A new study based on police department statistics across major U.S. cities found a nearly 150% surge in anti-Asian hate crimes in 2020. U.K. police data suggests a rise of 300% in hate crimes toward Chinese, East and South East Asians in the first quarter of 2020. According to new data presented to the Vancouver Police Board, anti-Asian hate crimes incidents increased by 878% from the January to September period in 2020.
