How has Club Carry played a role in your local community and music scene?

Club Carry is a platform / music collective by trans artist for trans artist. we strive to showcase the talent of BIPOC dj’s and producers here in NYC. Theres a lot of trans femmes and trans masc talent in this city that don’t get the recognition they deserve, mainly due to the systematic racism and transphobia that is still present in the NYC night life and around the country. Club Carry has also helped raise funds for others within our community that need help with securing housing, transportation , and life expenses. We believe that all BIPOC artist and ravers in the community deserve respect and love.

What can we see, hear and experience from Club Carry?

You’re definitely gonna hear a wide range of rap edits, hip hop, gabber, hard techno and more. Our sound for sure comes from our upbringings and experiences of queer rave events in the past. What you can see and experience at our events would be people who look like us and dress the way they identify. It's a priority of Club Carry that we hold spaces for BIPOC ravers and artists to feel the music and find themselves in a space they feel comfortable with being who they are, no matter that they identify as.

Tell us some DJs / artists you’re digging at the moment?

DJs like Miss Parker, Goth jafar, Syd Falls, Ariel Zentina, HimHun, Morenxxx, Juliana huxable,Juliana Huxtable , Lsdxoxo,  Club Eat, Xiorro, Dj Salazar, TT, Pushpin, DJ Valentimes, Sunrise Hunter, and NWD djs.

What do you think will become of the music industry & the underground music scene post-pandemic?

Hopefully more black and brown trans artist being booked and given more opportunities. the underground music scene has always been curated by black and brown artist and its about time they get to be given roles of higher rankings. such as club bookers, event coordinators, music labels, and even owning clubs of our own. theres been a lot of talk of how trans artist are paving ways for future generations of artist, so why not give us the resources we need to make the music industry a safer place for dolls like us.

Keep an eye out for more events! So much work is being done for future major events and fundraisers.
